Welcome to my Blog!

Welcome to my Blog!

I thought that in my first Blog post I would introduce myself and give you some insight into my life and how I come up with some of my stories and books. I was born in 1958 in a little town in West Virginia called Matewan. It may be a small town but it is rich with history including the Hatfield/Mccoy Feud and The Matewan Massacre, a bloody battle that took place between Baldwin-Felts Detectives and Sid Hatfield, Matewan's Chief of Police and miners who were trying to unionize. Being a small town, we didn't have a lot of things to do back in the day so we had to use our imagination to keep us from getting bored. Now the town is recreating itself as a tourist destination with over 600 miles of ATV trails, kayaking, fishing, shopping, lodging, and much more. But, it was that lack of things to do that shaped my life as a writer. Sure, we would play Cowboys and Indians, Pirates and even Tarzan! It was this sort of "playing" that caused me to dream up different worlds and characters.

I began writing little stories that seemed to materialize in my mind. I love to write, when I am writing anything whether it's a short story or a novel, as I write I "see" everything that is happening, just like watching a movie. It's odd and exciting how the stories change as I write them. It's like they take on a mind of their own! I also have vivid dreams that tend to become stories as well.

My latest book, the first of a three book series called Blood Feud Book One: Blood is Thicker Than Water actually came to be because of both my mother and my father's family backgrounds. On my mother's side of the family I am related to the Hatfields  from the infamous Hatfield/McCoy Feud. On my father's side of the family I am the grandson of Hungarian immigrants, thus the vampire side of the story. To me it seemed natural to put the two together to create a unique story filled with "Hillbilly" vampires. But, make no mistake, although there is humor this is a dark tale with mystery, murder, savagery, love and so much more.

Again, I want to welcome you to my page and I invite you to come back again and again for new stories and exclusive content plus exciting giveaways! Until the next time, have a wonderful day and keep dreaming!
